BY GABRIELE – Located at the upper reaches of the Enz River in the Northern Black Forest is one of the most beautiful health resorts in Germany: Bad Wildbad. Here, groundwater at a temperature of 36 to 41 °C comes to the surface from a depth of more than 1,000 metres. In combination with the breathtaking backdrop of the Black Forest and its pure, fresh air, the town is one of the most popular spa destinations in the region. So it’s no wonder that the first royal bathing house was built here back in the 16th century. But it was only in the 19th century that the baths took on their current appearance.Ornaments, tiles and arches in the Moorish style were complemented by windows and wall paintings in art nouveau style. This has resulted in a style mix that is unique worldwide. Not only a must for all spa fans, but also nature and architecture lovers!
