BY BASIL – KUNSCHT – THE THIRD // Exhibition on 20.07.2017 – Alte Kanzlei Stuttgart, Germany
“Kunscht” – a play on the German word “Kunst” (meaning “art”), which might sound a bit strange at first, but really isn’t!
This innovative project offers young artists in Southern Germany, working in many different disciplines and stylistic directions, a platform on which to present their work. Directed by initiator and high-flyer Tim Bengel, who travels the world’s great cities with his stunning gold and sand images, this project has evolved to become a major, well-regarded brand.
Now this crowd of creative types has got up to its latest trick, stirring things up in the Stuttgart arts scene, on its own initiative.
The collective’s third exhibition opened on July 20th with a temporary modern viewing at the Alte Kanzlei in Stuttgart, Germany. Once again, the Outletcity METZINGEN, sponsor of the first event, was present at the viewing.
Its power of attraction was clearly evident! “Kunscht” soon filled the majestic interior spaces of the Alte Kanzlei with swarms of interested visitors and journalists. Once you were inside, there was so much to see. Innovative and inspiring works by Tim Bengel, Herr Schiller, Vince Voltage, Viviana Traiano, Maximilian Kamps, Freya von Bülow and Wolfram Bier.
Now, if the words “art” and “viewing” fill you with horror and conjure up images of arty types standing around with glasses of sparkling wine, droning on for hours about every last detail of a painting, I can reassure you. The “Kunscht” viewing was a cool, stylish event that attracted a mixed and varied audience, all of whom were well entertained by the striking artworks, a live performance by KWADI, the Stuttgart musician, and a generous buffet.
The evening was a roaring success and we can hardly wait to see what the “Kunscht” creatives will come up with next, to inspire and enthral us. You still have time to view the exhibition at the Alte Kanzlei, Stuttgart for yourselves until September the 30th – it’s really worth a visit!
Game, set and match to the dynamic artists collective!
And, of course, we carried out a style check for you at the event and captured a couple of fashion statements.
Black is his colour for every aspect of life. Whether in New York, Berlin, Kuala Lumpur, or Stuttgart – he’s faithful to his own uncluttered style.
TIM – the “mastermind of Kunscht” (artist)
“My style is a blend of extravagant, unique items, some of which are modern, but with a good dose of the “old school”. When I get this feeling, it means the outfit is right.”
DENIS (modern hippy!)
He likes a clean, sporty look – uncomplicated but unique. With his camera, he tries to look behind the human social façade.
HERR SCHILLER – the straight-lined minimalist (artist)
Managers and designers of the Stuttgart “Wiederbelebt” fashion label. In our studios we create sustainable, limited edition pieces from discontinued textile lines, all with a Scandinavian touch. You can clearly see the influence of Scandinavian style in their own outfits.
SARAH & OGUZHAN (fashion designers)
Likes the sporty look. For special occasions he combines more refined elements with his otherwise relaxed, hip style. Having a co-ordinated colour scheme is important to him.
MIKE – The sneaker man!
