BY KATHARINA – Forests flaunt their most beautiful shades of red, the days become shorter and a cool breeze drifts through the streets. It’s time for knitwear and heavy coats once again! Finally! I really do love autumn. As soon as I spot the signs of this new season, the first thing I do is clear out my wardrobe. Every year, without fail, I am surprised by the pieces of jewellery that have been tucked away for months in my closet and the items that really don’t belong in my wardrobe any more. I mean, who hasn’t committed a fashion sin? A clean-out makes more room for new favourites.
In autumn, you can mix and match the most stunning outfits, create layered looks and use awesome materials. I enjoy browsing blogs for inspiration, not just for my job, but also out of personal interest. I got to know Nina Schwichtenberg from fashiioncarpet.com around a year ago through work. We got on straight away. Since then, she and her boyfriend Patrick, who is also a blogger (patkahlo.com), regularly come to see us at OUTLETCITY.
Their last visit was a couple of weeks ago, when Nina put together her five favourite looks for autumn with Gala magazine. They sauntered through OUTLETCITY together, and after they were done with autumn, they also looked at their winter favourites.
See for yourself…
For sunny autumn days: a flowy double-breasted blazer in pink by Bally paired with Jacquard trousers, also by Bally. The metallic bag by Jimmy Choo completes the outfit.
A real head-turner! The leopard print coat by Diane von Furstenberg is very special and a genuine ‘it’ piece. Animal print never really goes out of fashion, so it is an investment that will definitely pay off as the seasons go by.
Personally, this is my favourite look. I have to admit, I am a denim lover and a fan of tone on tone looks. This outfit is all about the detail. The mix of materials and different shades of blue adds a special touch to this simple look. The Levi’s 501 patchwork jeans with frayed hems are so modern. The plain white blouse by Diane von Furstenberg is the perfect base for the light blue coat by Windsor, the focal point of the outfit. And the velvet high heels by Jimmy Choo are simply a dream! The blue suede bag by Jimmy Choo, which can also be worn as a crossbody bag to create a casual look, completes the outfit.
The autumn must-have items in a nutshell: statement coats and double-breasted blazers enhanced with matching accessories. Bring on the autumn season!
